In contrast, seafood imports fell sharply in Irish markets by 95% to 33,733 USD; Singapore reduced 80% to 23,720 USD; Bangladesh decreased by 648% to 22,750 USD.
Top 10 markets that Vietnam imports the most seafood in August shows that India leads with 24.5 million USD, accounting for more than 16% of the country's total seafood imports; followed by Norway with 16.7 million USD, accounting for over 11%; third is Southeast Asia markets also over 16 million USD and accounting for approximately 11%.
In the first eight months of the year, the group of major markets supplying seafood to Vietnam reached over 100 million USD including India with 161 million USD, up 19% over the same period last year and accounting for 14% of the total import turnover. aquatic products of all kinds nationwide; Norway reached 134.4 million USD, down 8%, accounting for 12%; Southeast Asia market 121 million USD, down nearly 4%, accounting for 11%; Japan reached 111.3 million USD, accounting for 10% and up 30%.
In general, seafood imports in the first 8 months of 2020 from most markets have a decrease in turnover compared to the same period in 2019. Of which, a sharp decrease in markets such as Singapore decreased by 87%, reaching $ 1.5 million; Canada decreased 33% to 28.4 million USD; South Korea decreased 46% to reach 29 million USD.
