VIET NAM SHRIMP BRIEFLY UPDATED IN WEEK 50

1/ General situation & operation of factories
Covid situation in Mekong Delta is still bad, the daily infected cases in Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang and Can Tho are still high. This is yesterday’s Covid cases in these provinces:
 
+ Ca Mau: + 1341 (the infected cases in Ca Mau jumped up the top in recent days)
+ Bac Lieu: + 475
+ Soc Trang: + 447
+ Can Tho: + 749
 
Harvesting season of shrimp almost ended and big markets like US, EU, Japan are at doors of end-year holidays so that shrimp market in Viet Nam is not so active now. We think when China and other Asian countries welcome Chinese new year holiday then shrimp market will be active again.
 
For operation of factories, Covid is still affecting much to the operation of factories. With the current situation of Covid in Mekong Delta, it is sure that factories are still facing many difficulties from now until early next year 2022.
 
2/ Shrimp prices
+ Black tiger: flattened in week 50 after significantly dropped in week 49. The prices of some sizes are trading, 20 pcs/kg ~ 235,000.0 vnd/kg, 40 pcs/kg ~ 170,000.0 vnd/kg, 60 pcs/kg ~ 140,000.0 vnd/kg.
 
+ Vannamei: slight increased for middle sizes, flattened for big and small sizes 

For sure, the shrimp prices of both Black tiger and Vannamei will progress the same in next week 51
