SHRIMP RAW MATERIAL PRICES ON FEBRUARY 06, 2021 IN MEKONG DELTA

After prices increased strongly until early Jan 2021, then the prices of Vannamei shrimp in Mekong delta are decreasing continuously now. The reasons could be like these 

• Demands of main markets are not strong now, the buyers are not ready for buying to stock for consumption after new year holiday
• The pandemic situation is being worse in the world generally and in Viet Nam particularly, the terrible pandemic situation is affecting to all sectors of economics and seafood industry is not exception
• Normally, China market is so strong for shrimp for their consumption of Chinese new year but this year China is very quiet
• Viet Nam shrimp prices is following “domino effect” after prices in many major shrimp-production countries went flat or dropping, even the prices of red shrimp in Argentina is falling too

The prices of Black tiger shrimp after slightly dropped and become stable now, because Black tiger shrimp is farmed extensively mainly and it is almost end of harvesting season in Viet Nam, Bangladesh, Indonesia Borneo so that the prices do not drop quickly as the prices of Vannamei shrimp
