Imports of white shrimp and black tiger

In November 2019, imports of frozen white-legg shrimp amounted to 1,019 tons, down 50% from 2,024 tons a year earlier. But in contrast, imports of black tiger shrimp increased 7%, from 207 tons a year earlier to about 221 tons. 

By the end of November, the accumulated imports of white-legg shrimp amounted to about 17,860 tons, up 12% from about 15,928 tons a year earlier and the total import volume of black tiger came to about 2,446 tons, up about 27% from about 1,924 tons a year earlier.

In the last six years (2014~2019), the average import volume of frozen white-legg shrimp was 1,339 tons in November, so the 1,019 tons imported in November 2019 represent a fall of about 24%. In comparison,  in the past six years (from 2014 ~ 2019) the average import volume of black tiger shrimp in November was 244 tons, so this year's figure was down 9.4%.

Accumulated imports of frozen white-leg shrimp this year were 438 tons from Ecuador  246 tons from Malaysia.113 tons from Peru, 160 tons in Vietnam, 52 tons from Saudi Arabia and 19tons from Indonesia. For frozen Black tiger shrimp  imported about 1,975 tons from Malaysia,  299 tons from Philippines, 143 tons from Vietnam,  23 tons from Guinea and 5 tons from Bangladesh.
